It is the year 2001, and our world is about to be destroyed. In a desperate attempt to survive, a handful of people board a revamped space shuttle and are placed in suspended animation. Sent to drift in space, their only hope of ever living again rests with the ship's computerised system, which is set to wake them if they reach a breathable atmosphere.
Now, five hundred years later, a few passengers awake to find that the others haven't survived the journey. Alone in space, they discover that the very future of the human race is in their hands!
