This book describes the various aspects of the profession of the textile designer and analyses the various stages and methods of inventing, designing and making textiles. The exhibition presents yarn - knitted, embroidered or woven - as the sole protagonist of installations created by internationally famous artists, a selection of designer objects and a permanent workshop open to the public. The exhibition is being held as a result of the experience of the 'Knit Café', which involved a large number of people and focused on the subject of knitting, bringing together art, design and mass creativeness. Performance, photographs, installations and videos by 30 artists including Claudia Losi, Janet Echelman, Patricia Walzer, Freddie Robins, Anne Wilson, and objects created by about 20 designers, including the Campana brothers, Tom Dixon, Marcel Wanders, Patricia Urquiola and Tokujin Yoshioka.
