In the mid-1990's Joe Sacco spent four months in Bosnia, immersing himself in the human side of war, and researching stories rarely found in conventional news coverage. The book of his experiences, Safe Area Gorazde, earned him a Guggenheim fellowship after its release in 2000. Now for it's 10th anniversary, the book has been supplemented with related drawings, on-site sketches, photographs and transcripts from Sacco's notes.
