To this day, Leonardo da Vinci’s whereabouts between June of 1476 and January of 1478 are considered a mystery. Leonardo was only twenty-four years old at the time, and nobody knows what happened or where he was during those one-and-a-half years. The only thing we know for certain is thatthis period was crucial to many of his inventions.
His genius was so rare and universal that in 1540, a biographer already wrote, “It can be said that nature worked a miracle on his behalf”. Art historians have been puzzled ever since they studied Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting TheAnnunciation using x-ray beams. For reasons unknown, Leonardo has painted the angel in the painting with lead-free paint. Because of that, the angel is the only thing on the entire painting that is invisible on the special x-ray images.
In March of 2012, it was announced that researchers found traces of The Lost Leonardo hidden behind a double wall at the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. This discovery is the first proof that this mysterious artwork really exists. When the four friends Tom, Lisa, Sophie and Jack receive a strange sketch, their lives change abruptly.
