Mystery surrounds the disappearance of young Robin's family. He grows up wild a Winterborn his only friend the headstrong daughter of the aristocrat Delbosque family: Marian. Their bond is tested when Marian is locked up by the Sheriff, a man who feeds his horses on human flesh, and rides under the blazon of the wolf. But rescue will lead to punishment, and Robin must learn the ways of the forest to survive.
