Third book in the Skye trilogy, following from 'Skye Lakota' and the 'Skye Legacy'.
Laurel Cauldwell sets out for the Isle of Skye to live in Strathmore, the castle which her family bought from their MacKinnon cousins. During the sea voyage Laurel's ship comes under attack by a pirate ship and sunk. The captain of the ship is a friend of Laurel's father: Cheyne Sinclair, a free-spirited Scot whose nefarious deeds have taken him around the world. Astonished to learn that he's sunk his friend's ship and left his beautiful daughter in dire straits, Cheyne offers to take Laurel to Tangiers where he will provide her with a new ship - in debt to her father, not because of the feelings he has for Laurel. Laurel is soon entranced with the exotic lifestyle of Tangiers and passionately attracted to Cheyne. Knowing she must complete her journey, Laurel sails to the Isle of Skye. Cheyne stays with Laurel until his questionable past catches up with him he flees in order to protect her. Laurel must rescue her incorrigible pirate when he is captured by the British and the two admit the feelings they have for each other can no longer be denied.
