Peter Slater is well known for his beautiful and accurate illustrations of Australian birds, as well has the authoritative The Slater Field Guide to Australian Birds, on which he collaborated with his late wife, Pat Slater, and son, Raoul Slater, and which has been continuously in print since 1986.
