Sam wants a dog, but when his dad says no, he decides he'll have a Snagglegrollop instead. The Snagglegrollop takes a lot of looking after - he is very big after all, but he and Sam have great fun together. Sometimes, however, the Snagglegrollop seems sad and lonely. But when Sam's friend Emily brings round her pet, the Quibblesnuff, suddenly the Snagglegrollop is happy again. Eventually the two pets say goodbye and fly off together. But Sam isn't sad, especially as his dad might've changed his mind about the dog!
