The third volume of Roberta Syke's three volume autobiography 'Snake Dreaming'.
Roberta Sykes became the first black Australian to graduate from an American university. This is a vivid recount, from the late 1970s to late 1980s, of her battles to get funding to go to Harvard University, her time there once she succeeded, and her growing confidence as she thrives in this new environment - despite the freezing temperatures that terrify her and the political turmoil of the States. 'Snake Circle' is also the most personal of the trilogy, recounting Roberta's relationships with those she loved (notably her children and mum Shirl), failed love affairs and the run-ins and rumbles she has with the bureaucracy and politicians along the way.
