Madison Sabatini is living the fabulous life she thinks she deserves: in a spacious house, with a big TV and a swimming pool. Had she been paying closer attention, she might have noticed signs of trouble: her parents are on the verge of bankruptcy, and they've lost everything. They abruptly take her on a "vacation" to a small blue-collar beach town, and it soon becomes clear that they plan on staying-for good.
Madison avoids her family drama by befriending some local indie-type kids (including the cute Duncan) and focusing on her photography, the only thing that really seems to keep her sane. But strange things start happening . . . she notices unfamiliar people appearing in the pictures on her digital camera, people who weren't there when she took the photos. Through some terrifying revelations, she determines that the camera has a way to predict death. But things get even more horrifying when Duncan-and then Madison herself-appear on the camera's screen. Will Madison have a chance to turn her life around before it's too late?
