Mother tries to teach Snug to dig up bulbs, to raid an ant hill, and to catch fish. But the irrepressible Snug deserts each lesson only to get himself into trouble. He chases a chipmunk into a log - and gets stuck. He swims after a trout - and is almost swept over a waterfall. He stalks a blue jay - and finds himself hanging upside down at the mercy of angry birds. Each time, though, Mother has her eye on Snug and rescues him from danger. And finally, this irresistible young bear gets his way - Mother plays with him.
