E Rimmel Ltd of London and Paris, nineteenth-century purveyor of fine toiletries, created elegant labels for soaps, perfumes, and colognes to suit the refined tastes of Victorian haute couture. These 40 beautiful images of angels, flowers, cote d'armes, and mannerly gentlefolk will add a distinctive flair to your notes and correspondence.

The 19th century official perfumer to the Royal Family, Eugene Rimmel was an internationally recognised expert on scent. His perfume and toiletries were favourites of European nobility and aristocrats. In addition to authoring the influential publication, 'The Book Of Scent', Rimmel also introduced innovative perfume products, such as room vaporisers, scented cards, and perfumed cushions, to the market.

A highly regarded businessman, translator, advertising executive and philanthropist, Rimmel's products were distinguished throughout Britain and Europe. Despite his fame, none of his scents were preserved and few of his beautifully illustrated catalogues or advertisements exist today. Rimmel International is still one of the most prominent cosmetic brands in Britain.
