The Five Element system originated more than five thousand years ago in China. It maps the constant interaction of everything in the universe by grouping aspects of creation together under five symbols: Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood. This philosophy reveres nature and natural order, and it remains intrinsic today to such arts as Zen Shiatsu, Acupuncture, Feng Shui, Chinese Astrology, Qi Gong and many Martial Arts disciplines.
