Steven Holl's experimental approach to architecture is a romantic, humanistic one, which focuses on our responses to the play of light and shadow on stone, to the movement of the clouds through the night sky, and to the shifting planes of tall buildings seen as we move through the complex spaces of our cities. The book captures these experiences through its presentation of the most spectacular of Holl's architecture. Holl's work dealing with issues of urbanism is the focus of this book which presents the most extraordinary examples of his architecture from around the world.
