Millipop Klompet and Ernest Perriclof have escaped the clutches of the nefarious Lord Aldor for a second time. But the journey is not over for them yet. Twice defeated by the ingenuity of children, Aldor has returned, this time driven by a lust for vengeance rather than power. He is about to launch his most pernicious scheme yet: to eradicate childhood.
Gustav Von Gobstopper is an unassuming toymaker from Europe whose passion is inventing new toys to delight children. All this changes when Lord Aldor decides to use magic to exploit the toymaker's inventive genius to achieve his own ends. Accompanied by his protégée, deranged designer Tempest Anomali, Aldor commandeers Von Gobstopper's workshop and turns the toys into his own personal artillery.
When Milli and Ernest visit the arcade on an excursion, a chance encounter brings them together with a small resistance of toys who have gone
underground to avoid capture and experimentation. Their new found friends include: Theo, the bandana-wearing and street-wise teddy bear, Pascal, the conceited prima-ballerina doll who finds there is more to life than grooming and Captain Pluck, the clockwork solider who has been waiting his entire life for an opportunity to use his military prowess in the fight against evil.
Milli and Ernest soon learn that not only are the toys maimed in underground laboratories, but they are also maliciously reprogrammed. Santa Claus (Lord Aldor in disguise) plans to deliver the toys to households throughout Drabville and on Christmas night they will attack and smother the sleeping children in their beds. Milli and Ernest must stop Aldor before the mutated toys unleash havoc.
What Aldor has failed to anticipate is that mutated or not, the bonds between children and the world of toys cannot be so easily reversed. Unconditional love proves the perfect foil for the villain's macabre plans and once again, he is left with no option but a humiliating retreat.
