Susanne Gervay

Susanne GervayThe daughter of Hungarian post war refugees, Susanne Gervay was brought up in a complicated but wonderful family and writes about things that are important to her. Devastated by the death of her father, she wrote Next Stop the Moon. a primarily autobiographical celebration of life. A sole parent with two kids who are the centre of her life, writing has enabled Susanne to help them, help herself and help other kids. She wrote Jamie's A Hero for her son Jamie when she was going through divorce. She wrote My Brother is SO Annoying (endorsed by NSW Cancer Council) for her daughter Victoria, because she had breast cancer. She wrote I Am Jack (endorsed by Life Education, Australia) because her son was being bullied and she wanted to offer her hand to him and to other kids. Her young adult novels are also inspired by truth and seeking answers. A teacher and educational consultant with a Master of Education (UNSW) specializing in Child Growth and Development Suzanne loves being able to incorporate her work as an educator into her creative work.
