When the Tuckers move in next door, Marvin finds himself attracted to the older daughter, Edie. But then strange things start happening in the neighbourhood - especially in the swamp close by where Marvin likes to go exploring. The events seem to be centred around Edie's two younger sisters and Marvin begins to become more and more uncomfortable - and more and more frightened . . .
