Sydney the penguin's latest invention causes his friend Bill the whale to get stuck in a large hole on the beach. The other animals try to rescue him, but nothing seems to work - until Sydney has one of his ideas! This time Sydney's idea is to build a hot air balloon to lift Bill up out of the hole. It works - to everyone's delight - but as Bill and Sydney float higher and higher in the sky they start to get frightened. It's up to the inventive Sydney to find a way to get Bill, and himself back to the safe waters of home.
