Anna has left her husband. He's a cheating, lying, miserly rat and her friends agree that she's better off without him. But he refuses to stay out of her life. He keeps coming back to reclaim jut one more picture, one more ornament, one more memento of a failed marriage. This can't go on; drastic action is called for.
It is all perfectly rational. People meet with domestic accidents every day: swallowing garden poison, eating infected food. Why would anyone be suspicious? Why then is it so difficult to execute the plan?
Residents of the small Yorkshire village wonder what's going on in the charming old cottage with roses around the door. But as Anna tries to resolve her life, amid the chaos of past betrayal, new passion, family ties and murderous impulses, it's anybody's guess what direction the future will take.
