Katie is 16, right into sailing, school friends, and, even more importantly, boyfriends. Oh, and it would seem she also has Hodgkin’s Disease. Lymphoma. Cancer.
In Katie’s world a bit of weight loss is a good thing. A bit of hair loss and fatigue, explainable. So it takes a long time for anyone, including Katie, to realise that she is sick. Then it would appear everything is gone. No sailing, few friends and definitely no boyfriend.
