Now that Jane has an army, she needs a target. Soon enough she gets word that Jarl's been amassing his own force, and he's chosen his battleground: Arthur's Seat, in Edinburgh.

Everyone knows that whoever holds the high ground wins the war, so Jarl definitely seems to have pipped Jane at the post. But before Jarl can call himself ''King of the Hill,'' Jane and her friends come up with a plan so kooky, it just might work. In Jane's estimation, all they need is love, lots of magic, one immature garden gnome with a penchant for pastel suits and dirty books, and snacks for Jane. After all, a girl does have to eat. . .
