Two brothers, two countries, two passions . . .
Two different journeys of Italian migration to Australia, as seen through the eyes of brothers a generation apart, with very different careers: one dedicated to the art of the organ, the other to the table.
Sergio de Pieri arrived in Australia in 1961 and became Chief Organist at St Patrick's Cathedral in Melbourne; his brother Stefano arrived in 1974 and has made his name through the ABC-TV series, 'A Gondola On The Murray'. Both Sergio and Stefano were born in a village near Treviso, in Italy's Veneto region. They are the eldest and youngest sons, and their parents have worked the family farm for decades.
