If you're a fan of the occult, whether you truly believe or not, this book is an awesome read. Teen angst, family drama (of both the normal and supernatural sort), and a touch of horror are the main elements of this story and are developed in a slow-burning, suspenseful way. The novel is written mostly as an extended letter to Winnie's friend, providing the sense that she's actually addressing the reader, but is broken up by scenes written as sections of script, which creates a blend of confessional writing and third-person omniscience that makes the reader eager to learn more about the characters' relationships and, of course, what the heck is happening with the New Jersey Devil. - Payton, QBD West Lakes
