The hermit had the island all to himself, and that was how he liked it. It was quiet, tidy and peaceful and he was quite content, until the day the bird arrived . . .
The bird was noisy, messy and energetic and just wouldn't go away. The hermit was furious. He built a trap, trapped the bird, put it in a cage, made a hood for the cage, and covered it until all was finally quiet. Soon the silence began to bother the hermit. He missed the bird's song. And when the bird flew away, he begged it not to go, but it did. When the bird returns, the hermit is thrilled, that is until the arc arrives with all the other animals . . .
