A Scottish folk-tale illustrated by Alan Marks
Nobody goes inside the old, beautiful forest owned by Janna's father, for it's enchanted. Then one day, Janna squeezes under the fence and there, beside a rose-clad ruin, meets a handsome young man called Tam Lin who is a prisoner in the forest, enslaved by the Queen of the Fairies. There is only one way to free him, and Janna must find all the courage and love she has to encounter the terrible, shape-changing powers of the furious Fairy Queen.
