A heartwarming story of adventure, courage and the importance of friendship.
Sean the duck is growing up on the west coast of Ireland. He's had fun all summer long, rushing from one adventure to the another - whether he's teasing the seagulls, or just managing to outwit the greedy Fox.
But now winter is approaching, and it is time for the birds to fly south, away from the freezing snows. As the journey begins, Sean doesn't listen to his mother's advice to follow her closely. Too busy playing with the gulls, he loses sight of his family. Then, after a near-miss with an aeroplane, the little duck can fly no longer. He's stranded.
At first, Voley the water vole is around to help, with crazy schemes and kind-hearted advice. But then Voley, too, has to leave Sean alone.
So Sean must begin the biggest adventure of his life - how will he survive the first snow of winter?
