Inspired by the concepts and visuals of the forthcoming film, 'The Fountain' is in the style of the ever popular Art of or behind the scenes titles. 'The Fountain' is an odyssey about one man's thousand-year struggle to save the woman he loves. His epic journey begins in 16th century Spain where conquistador Tomas Creo (Hugh Jackman) commences his search for the Tree of Life, the legendary entity believed to grant eternal life to those who drink of its sap.
The story continues through the present day where, as Tommy Creo, he struggles to find a cure for his wife (Rachel Weisz) who is dying of cancer. Tom, the 26th century incarnation, travels into the depths of space to come to terms with the ultimate truth of life, death, love and rebirth.
This book is an extension of Darren Aronofsky's unique filmic vision. It contains film stills, the original script, still photos and original art by renowned graphic novel artist Kent Williams.
