Oh, the knitters will love this one. The story is actually about the life of 1 woman and all the people she gathers around her. They form the "Friday Night Knitting Club". Each character has their own story which is cleverly woven in with all the others. The main character owns a wool shop which is the part I particularly loved. The descriptions of differents wools, (colours, textures) struck a note with me. I could almost feel and smell the wool!! The ending is great, a real punch to the stomach. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. P.S. I've since read another of Kate Jacobs' books. Also excellent.
