After years of burying his memories of his father, a Romanian Jew who mysteriously disappeared from Ted's life when he was five, he decided it was time to confront his ancestry. Ted Simon's pilgrimage to find his roots in Eastern Europe took him from his mother's birthplace in Hamburg, through Poland and Bosnia, and finally to Romania.
