Can a man, once hypnotized, react to post-hypnotic suggestion fifteen years later?
Jim Ryan, a middle-aged man raising a teenage daughter on his own, receives a photograph in the mail. A picture of a mine entrance, with a Maltese cross carved nearby in the rock. A few days later he receives another photograph, this one of a trail that leads to the mine. While looking at the photos, he begins doodling. The result: 90-52-12. Obviously road routes, and he is impelled to follow them. They lead him to the mine - a fabulous conquistadores' gold mine- to danger, to near death, and to the solution of a fifteen-year-old stunning doublecross.
