Shipwrecked and adrift, Edward Prendick is luckily saved by a passing vessel. When the ship docks at an unchartered island, staffed by bizarre-looking men, he is offered hospitality by the unsettling Doctor Moreau. Gradually Edward comes to discover the true nature of the inhabitants of the island. Moreau has been stitching together man and beast to create a terrifying new super-breed. These creatures fight a daily battle with their human and animal sides - a battle closely supervised by the Doctor and his 'Laws'. But when one of the experiments escapes unfinished from the lab, chaos is unleashed on the island. Suddenly Prendick finds that he is fighting for his life.
