Another absolute freaking masterpiece from Cassandra Clare. I was so hyped for this book because we got to go back to the era of Will and Tessa Herondale but I was afraid that I was going to be let down.
HAVE NO FEAR!!
I am convinced this book can be read as a ‘First Cassandra Clare book I’ve read’ simply because all of the first books in her series’ (except maybe Lady Midnight) can be read as the first story and then the rest are just catching up on the little hint and clues that this wonderful author lays out for us. I CANNOT wait for the next time I can read about these characters because we have such a wide range and perspectives just in this first book that I’m intrigued and left needing (not simply wanting) more!
If you want an incredibly diverse and complex character set, set in a historical fantasy fiction genre, look no further compadres! - Hannah (QBD)
