The Little Polar Bear now available as a board book in time for Little Polar Bear's 30th year anniversary! It's a big day for the little polar Lars! His father takes him hunting for the very first time, and that night he is so tired from all his lessons that he falls fast asleep. He sleeps so soundly that he doesn't hear the ice crack, doesn't feel himself slowly drift away from his father and the North Pole - he doesn't realise that his adventures have just begun. "This is an endearing picture book, with soft-colored illustrations that help give a very cold place a warm feel." - Children's Literature Reviews AGES: 0 to 3 AUTHOR: Hans de Beer was born in 1957 in Muiden, near Amsterdam. After briefly studying history, he attended courses at the Rietveld Art Academy in Amsterdam. His dissertation on Lars, the little polar bear, gained him international success and countless awards, and it has so far been translated into thirty languages. Today he lives as a freelance illustrator with his partner, an Italian illustrator, and they have homes in Amsterdam and just outside Florence.
