This Young Adult novel follows the fortunes of Charlotte Paige and Oliver Shattuck, whom readers first met in an earlier novel by Nancy Bond, 'The Best of Enemies.' Now, three years later, 18-year-old Oliver is living in London with his mother and stepfather. 16-year-old Charlotte, his closest friend when he lived in Concord, Massachusetts, is given a trip to visit him and his family as a graduation present. But the visit turns out to be very different from what Charlotte had expected. This is an absorbing story with interesting teenage characters, delineated in depth as they struggle with personal problems and those of another young American girl in need of help.
