Tom Bracewell is an economist for an investment bank; when he comes home to find his Estonian wife, Tatyana, has vanished, leaving him a note, his world is turned upside down. Sarah Turnbull is a currency analyst who has just been head-hunted for the Leopard Fund, one of the world's most powerful financial predators. Jean-Pierre Telmont heads the Leopard Fund. His past is blurred.
As Tom investigates Tatyana's disappearance, he comes to wonder if he ever knew his wife - there are trips to Europe and massive Swiss bank accounts of which he had no knowledge. And, once he has met Sarah, the two of them begin to realise that Tatyana and the plans of Telmont are somehow linked. This realisation leads them into deadly danger and a helter-skelter chase across Europe.
Finally, both Telmont and his Fund show their true spots in attacks on the markets which threaten a global financial crisis. At the risk of death, Tom and Sarah must unravel the mysteries of the Leopard Fund and a plan which dates back over half-a-century.
