Tilly Farmer is 32 years old and totally content living in her hometown, married to her high school boyfriend, and working as the school guidance counsellor. She and Tyler are trying for a baby, and her life is perfect. Or is it? One afternoon at a local fair, Tilly wanders into the fortune teller's tent to have her palm read and is greeted by a former childhood friend who promises Tilly 'the gift of clarity'.
That night Tilly has a terrifying dream that her alcoholic father has relapsed - and when she wakes up to learn that he crashed his car into a tree after a night at the bar, she can't help but think she saw it coming. Then Tyler tells her he is 'considering' taking a job up in Seattle, and she has a vision of him packing up a moving truck in their driveway.
