A last minute change of mind sees Collard get off a sheduled Pan Am flight to New York with his son nick. Later that night he learns that the plane has exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland, and that his son may have been involved in the plot to destoy it, and may not have been on the plane after all. In his desperate search for the truth, Collard is drawn into the treacherous world of intelligence agents and internation terrorists, where he and his son are as expendable as the crash victims, and a ruthless covert operator is framing them in a cover-up that goes all the way to the top.
