An Igniter Book. When Steve McGarva moved to Puerto Rico, he came across Playa Lucia, a place known to locals as Dead Dog Beach. Dead Dog Beach was a notorious dumping ground for unwanted dogs and McGarva soon became its full-time lifeguard. McGarva quickly went to work on behalf of the strays. He fed, named, provided medical attention, and began caring for the animals at his own expense.
