In a Paris department store, Malaussene's title may be Quality Controller yet his real function is to deflect the rage of dissatisfied customers. But whether or not it is a dissatisfied customer who sets off a succession of bombs in the store is a mystery that leaves the police inspector scratching his head. A scapegoat is needed. Young Malaussene will do nicely. And the only way out is for our hero to nail the culprit.
