Isaac Hammer is under arrest. The police suspect his company, a private London intelligence agency, hired another organisation to undertake illegal work - phone tapping, email hacking, bribery - and now he must face the consequences. But this wasn't Hammer's case, and this isn't the kind of work Hammer abides by. This was Ben Webster's job, but now Webster is missing.
Released from custody, with only nine days before he must report back to police, Hammer needs to find his old employee, and fast. But when Webster's wife admits he went to Georgia for a friend's funeral and hasn't called since missing his flight home, Hammer has no choice but to go to Tbilisi to bring back the wanted man.
But with everyone in Georgia, from the government to the gangsters, watching Hammer's movements with equal interest, finding his old friend won't be as easy as he first thought.
