On a routine visit to Switzerland, leading US banker Charles Black is suddenly arrested and thrown in jail. He is then accused of using privileged information to commit massive frauds, embezzling over $450 million. The case against him seems iron-clad, so he can expect thirty years' hard labour in a Swiss prison.
Charlie realizes he's been framed, but cannot identify his mysterious enemy. Desperately seeking diplomatic and legal help, his wife Sally is frustrated at every turn. Even back in the USA, no one seems willing to get involved. His case looks hopeless.
