One morning in a small town in Pakistan, close to the Afghan border, three brothers sit down to breakfast. Soon they will set off separately to the mosque for Friday prayers - it is too dangerous to travel together, today of all days.
But they never reach the mosque. Mina, the wife of one brother, has disappeared and he must find her quickly. And beautiful, fragile Samarra, a woman whose fate is intertwined with the lives of the other two brothers, draws them to another part of the war-torn city. Here she will make a decision that will change the lives of the three brothers, and the town, forever.
