Nearly two decades on, debt-ridden academic Samuel Gaddis needs a new project to help support his daughter after his latest book fails to make an impact. When a journalist friend asks for his help in researching a story which could rock the foundation of politics from London to Moscow, he can scarcely believe his luck.
