Aliens have invaded earth and instructed all the humans to move to Florida. They have renamed earth Smekland. Christmas has been named Smekday, after their glorious leader Captain Smek.
Gratuity Tucci may only be in eighth grade, but she doesn't want to move to Florida. Luckily she can drive - she learnt by nailing cans of sweetcorn to her shoes. This way she could reach the pedals. She had to after her mom left (her mom was abducted by aliens - if ever a strange new mole appears on your neck, you know it's going to happen - don't say you haven't been warned).
So begins an epic journey with a brilliant girl hero, a cat named Pig, and one of the Boov (aliens) who's taken the human name J.Lo, all determined to save the earth before Smekday . . .
