Ever had a burr in your sock? Well, gappers are like that, only bigger, about the size of a baseball, bright orange, with multiple eyes like a potato. Gappers love goats; but unfortunately, goats do not love gappers. In fact they grow thin and stop giving milk when gappers are about. In towns that survive on goats' milk, gappers are not good. It is necessary to keep the gappers off the goats at all times.
