When a witch's broom loses its power of flight, causing the witch to fall into a pumpkin patch, kind Widow Shaw takes her in and puts her to bed. Later, the witch disappears but she leaves her broom behind. The broom has retained some of its magic power and Widow Shaw appreciates its help and company. Her neighbours don't agree however, and want her to destroy the broom without dealy . . .
