Colin and Prill are staying in Laggs Castle. "Castle Dracula, more like. It's really creepy," says their cousin Oliver. As they begin to explore the old house and the dark woods surrounding it, they find themselves becoming the victims of some evil force - something threatening, something lurking in the dark corners and winding staircases of the ancient building.
What mysterious secret is the old house hiding? Could it possibly be some kind of vampire? Only something really terrible could make a loaf of bread taste of bones and blood . . .
