'A fireworks display from two very talented storytellers' Madeline Miller, bestselling author of CIRCE

Co-written by two award-winning writers, THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE THE TIME WAR is an epic love story spanning time and space.

Among the ashes of a dying world, an agent of the Commandant finds a letter. It reads: Burn before reading.

Thus begins an unlikely correspondence between two rival agents hellbent on securing the best possible future for their warring factions. Now, what began as a taunt, a battlefield boast, grows into something more. Something epic. Something romantic. Something that could change the past and the future.

Except the discovery of their bond would mean death for each of them. There's still a war going on, after all. And someone has to win that war. That's how war works. Right?

'An intimate and lyrical tour of time, myth and history' John Scalzi, bestselling author of OLD MAN'S WAR

'Lyrical and vivid and bittersweet' Ann Leckie, Hugo Award-winning author of ANCILLARY JUSTICE

'Rich and strange, a romantic tour through all of time and the multiverse' Martha Wells, Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author of THE MURDERBOT DIARIES

About a quarter of the way through this novel I thought "this is my new favourite book", and days after finishing I still can't stop thinking about it. Lyrical and brutal, romantic and heartbreaking, This Is How You Lose the Time War defies all expectations of genre and shines as something brand new and unique. A scifi action thriller mixed with one of the most beautiful love stories I've ever read; an exploration of classic literature and a hyperactive cyberpunk adventure, this novel truly has something for everyone. Fall in love with Red and Blue as they fall in love with each other, and let yourself got lost in Time. - Rebecca (QBD)

This is how you lose the time war gives readers a small glimpse into the many lives and roles of two time agents, Red and Blue, who are aligned on either side of the time war. They chase each other through the strands of time leaving behind letters, at first boastful and challenging quickly turn inquisitive and kind . This sci-fi enemies to lovers combines the writing styles of Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone to create a near poetic fast paced read. At just under 200 pages this is a great pick for a rainy day and a cup of tea! - Paige (QBD)
