Tokyo TDC (Tokyo Type Directors Club) has long used typography as a medium to reflect the evolving role of graphic designers across different eras. It captures the changing purposes, standards, and meanings of design, while pushing the boundaries of what's possible through award-winning works. Tokyo TDC-The Best In International Typography & Design-also embodies this spirit in its annual yearbook, making it a must-have publication for designers every year!
The 2024 edition continues the tradition of challenging conventions. Both the award-winning and selected entries highlight the value of experimental design, encouraging creatives to explore the limitless possibilities of visual expression.
Tokyo TDC VOL.35 comes in A5 format and spans 464 pages. This year's editions features art direction by Fumio Tachibana and book design by Muramatsu Takehiko. For the title design, Muramatsu carved various typefaces into various physical stamps and reassembled them-a highly creative approach that not only embodies TDC's spirit of exploring typographic potential but also brings a tactile warmth and charm to the printed word.
