It's never too late to get your life back on track
Michael is a broken man. He's waiting for the 9.46 to Gloucester. He intends to travel to Crewe and jump in front of a high-speed train. A quick, clean death - the end.
He has planned it all- a net of tangerines (in case the refreshments trolley is cancelled), a juice carton filled with whisky (for Dutch courage) and a credit card taped to the bottom of his shoe (for easy identification).
What Michael hasn't planned is the twelve minute delay, which risks him missing his connection. Or his fellow passengers, who aren't always keen to chat...
Michael longs to make peace with the voices in his own head- ex-girlfriends, work colleagues, and the memories from his schooldays, decades old, which still torment him.
What Michael needs is someone to listen, and help him make sense of his unhappiness.
And to find that person so he's going to have to make a leap he would never have guessed at...
